Jay Bruce Golf Benefit: Teeing Off Online

Jay Bruce Golf Benefit Design

The all new www.JayBruceGolfBenefit.com is teed up and ready to drive all year long! As the official website of the golf tournament hosted by Jay Bruce – outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds and Beaumont native – this is the home for details and information regarding the event as well as the one-stop destination for easily registering for the golf tournament, purchasing sponsorships for the tournament, and making donations. The tournament this year was a big success, a lot of fun, and Americom Marketing is proud to have been a part of it with design and marketing. To top it off, the website can help generate interest, accept donations and more throughout the remainder of the year and so on.

The Jay Bruce Golf Benefit is more than just a golf tournament. It’s a fundraising event from some awesome people for awesome people. Proceeds directly go to the Arc of Greater Beaumont and to the Life Skills Dept. at West Brook High School in Beaumont, Tx. The Arc is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities through service and support programs.

Jay and his wife Hannah and family have put on this event since 2010, each year adding more and more to it for activities, games, prizes, sponsors and fun. This year the tournament was held again at Bayou Din Golf Course on November 15th (Saturday). The Bruces added games, prizes and other surprises for this year including a grand prize for the raffle – tickets to the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Cincinnati! That’s right! The winner will get to experience the best in the game with peanuts, cracker jacks, screaming line drives and flying foul balls right in Jay Bruce’s National League home field, the Great American Ball Park.

The tournament was super fun and included some top notch golfers (and not so hot) from the likes of Lamar University to other scratch golfers at Games People Play and beyond. It may not have been subzero temperatures, but it wasn’t far from it! It was definitely cold, but the homemade gumbo that the Bruce Team provided and other amenities and fun was enough to warm us all up. The sponsors were terrific, too. Among the sponsors were outstanding groups like the Provost Umphrey Law Firm, KBMT Channel 12, LD Services, SWAT Construction, Gary Clayton, MD, Mike Fuljenz, Kara Ferguson, Regina Rogers, Edward Jones, UBS Financial, The Reds Community Fund and many others.

The Americom team, also a sponsor, faired pretty well at 13 under, but our win came from just being in the mix and seeing a SELL OUT crowd and seeing a record-setting amount of funds raised!

This website has been a terrific journey and now we are thrilled to see it live, getting clicks and gaining momentum for the golf benefit and ongoing. The Bruce team generously says that they’ve been more than pleased with the aesthetics, but the efficiency of registrants and sponsors going to the website has been great – keeping all of the information-gathering streamlined and organized. With a sellout and raising more money than the previous 4 years, this has helped their process and we couldn’t be happier about that. The website has online registration for golfers wanting to play or enter their 4-some. With just a few clicks and an easy step-by-step informational process, folks can sign up to play from the convenience of their laptops, tablets or smart phones because of the responsive, dynamic design. “The ability to easily use the site for registration and purchasing sponsorships was paramount. And we wanted people to have the best experience no matter if they were using their iPhone, Android, tablet or desktop computers,” Jay Bruce said. The website has an easy to use donation page as well. So if you want to be involved and give to the cause, but don’t want to necessarily hit a 250-yard drive in a tight lie or risk a sun burn in the out-of-bounds rough, this feature has you covered!

The whole team at Americom Marketing is proud of the work, the people involved and what it’s all for. Americom President, Charlie Cooper, says “We consider ourselves fortunate and honored to be a part of this, and the site looks great. We look forward to seeing the results from this year, but also how it grows for the years to come. The site was built for the long haul to make things professional and easy to maintain and evolve for the 6th annual tournament, and the 7th annual tournament and so on.”

Hannah and Jay Bruce have done a wonderful job of providing details and imagery for the site including a page for viewing photos from previous years’ tournaments, a news blog, and links to their various social media sites. Americom’s, Lance LaRue, took lead on the design and had a personal investment in the project. “I really like this design and I think the Bruces’ commitment and diligence are really evident. The logic points throughout the site are sharp and on point. It’s a modern and clean look, and it’s a unique layout when compared to most other charity golf tournament websites – which was something we were all looking for right from ‘go.’ Donna (Barlow) & the crew coded it really well for optimal use on mobile devices, too.” LaRue adds, “Having friends involved in the Arc of Beaumont and participating in the Buddy Walk last year, this was special. I love what they do and I’m so glad we get to do something that benefits the Arc like this… And being the big baseball fan that I am, getting to work with the Reds right fielder and his wife was icing on the cake.”
